When I bought these I didn't realized they had purple bulbs. I thought it was just a traditional multi color icicle set. (Apparently, I didn't read the description or look at the picture :) I plugged them in and showed them to my husband and he was not thrilled with the purple but our 4 year old daughter loved them so we decided to keep them. The addition of purple grew on my husband and all the neighbors keep asking us where we got such bright icicle lights. Also, it's really hard to find LED icicle lights with more than 70 bulbs--not sure why 70--seems odd but these have more than 100 and it's plenty of light.
